About Us
The High Plains Chorus, located in Hays Kansas, is chartered with the International Barbershop Harmony Society. We chartered in 1968, and have been going strong since then.
Our members come from a wide area surrounding Hays, meeting each Thursday for rehearsal and regularly singing in our communities. We support our neighbors who serve in the military by singing for Veterans Day and Memorial day programs, and regularly sing to open basketball and baseball games
We love to sing and perform, particularly in our annual show in the first part of April, where we also bring an international-caliber champion quartet to headline the show. Our chapter takes great pride in supporting local music programs, such as in public schools and Fort Hays State University, offering scholarships to college students who would like to come sing with us. We also enjoy bringing the joy of barbershop harmony to nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area.
We are a non-profit organization, donating to DSNWK and other charities. We support music programs in the area schools and Fort Hays State University by donating or going to their school and putting on a show that they can use as a fund raiser - or both! We offer scholarships to students at NCK Technical College, Fort Hays State, and other colleges in the area. We love to support all of our local communities!
Our annual support comes from hundreds of businesses and individuals like you. Thank you!
